bethena
Hi! I've been doing a ton of research on this, so now I'm just going to post. I want to write a phrase in logic, export to MIDI, and get that into the piano as a phrase. I know how to create a phrase on the PX-5s, but doing so on a computer would be so much easier. I also already have them written in Logic, so if there was some was to get those in the keyboard, that would be rad. I tried doing this, but it didn't work: Created a simple piano part in Logic Exported it to MIDI Used the PX-5S data editor. When I tried to use the convert tool (Under Phrase Convert, I tried to pull the MIDI file from the left column, PC MIDI Date Files, to the right column, PC Phrase Data Files) I got this error message: "Phrase Convert Error I'm hoping there's some way to do this! Any help is very appreciated! If not, then my second question is- Can I use the Data Editor to update a Phrase I wrote on the PX-5s?
Brad Saucier
Check midi export settings in Logic. Midi format may be set to something the editor can't use.
Hugh O Kelly
I tried like you did with logic but with no success . Later I just got to learn how to work within the limits of writing a phrase. At first it is a pain, but if you write them in channel 1 whether it is drums, bass or brass you will get it and whats more they may better that the ones you do in logic. the 16 triplets are great as long as you play it in time. tip on writing the first note; when recording ,start the process with you hitting a note. Does any of that make any sense?
