CJTX
Hello, I have an admittedly older CTK-720. I wanted to start learning to play using my computer, but the computer (Mac Mini running OS Sierra) won't recognized the USB cable. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I"d really like to learn on this one before upgrading to a more expensive one. Thank you - CJTX
Display Name
Hi there and welcome to the Casio forums. From my research, Casio doesn't support Mac drivers for this model . There is a third party driver that may help you out. Note: This is not an official driver so use at your own risk: https://code.google.com/archive/p/casiousbmididriver/ I found it from this thread, and the person with the issue marked it as "solved", so it seems legit, but again Casio or Apple do not support or endorse this. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2248746?tstart=
CJTX
Thanks Scott! Unfortunately that link is dead...I found another version (why do I always forget about google?) but that didn't seem to work either. No matter, I'll just listen to my lessons via speaker on the computer and speaker on the keyboard. Thank you again though! CJTX
aidendude
The code hosted on google is now on github You can download it from the repo https://github.com/francoisferland/casiousbmididriver by clicking on the .pkg link in the description (towards bottom of page) It worked for me after restarting my computer
- T -
The driver installation instructions, posted on the above site from aidendude, state that it is compatible with OS X 10.7 (Lion) through OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), so it may not work with the newer OS X 10..12 (Sierra), but it is certainly well worth a try.
