Dave Jones
Hi all , I am new to this sight so I would appreciate your understanding and patience. I have recently bought an MZ-X 500. I can't always get it to start every time. Has anyone else had this problem? How was it resolved ? Thanking you in anticipation
Leonh
Can you give more details?
Dave Jones
Whenever I try to start it up, sometimes there is no response. I try again later and there is no problem. It's a intermittent problem.
Rudolph R-N R
Make sure you hold down the on button for at least a few seconds.
Dave Jones
I have tried holding it down for every length of time (including 30 seconds and over) Still no luck.
Lobbard
Hi there, Sounds odd for sure. Mine switches on no problems with just a simple two-seconds press. No expert here, Dave, but I'd be thinking on the following lines before contacting dealer: * Do other appliances switch on consistently from the same wall socket? Radio, fan, lamp...? * Is the connection from the mains plug to the power brick seated firmly? Unplug it and reconnect it a few times, just in case of a mote of dirt? * The connection that plugs from the power brick into the back of the keyboard: Unplug it a few times and reconnect it firmly, as above. * On average, how many times out of ten times of powering on the MZ-X might be a dud? * Is it a brand new keyboard or a pre-owned one and is the warranty still valid? * Should you need to contact Casio Tech help, they might ask if you updated the OS? * Any way of testing just the power pack for faults before returning the whole keyboard for repair? cheers
