yobear
I found my moms old Casio rap-1 rapman. It's in okay condition, but a couple of the keys don't work and the adapters shot. Anybody have any advice on how to fix it.
Brad Saucier
Hey cool find! The Casio AD-1 adapter works for the Rapman. You can find the Rapman manual online by searching "casio rap-1 pdf". As far as the keys, they might just need cleaning if they aren't physically missing. Try blowing directly down in the gap between the problem keys. If that doesn't do it you'll need to take it apart to clean it further. Good luck!
yobear
Thank You very much for the advice! I'll go out and buy an adapter later. I have another small question. It also came with a small microphone, know where I can get a replacement of some sorts. Does not have to be an exact one, just one that will work with it. CYBERYOGI =CO=Windler
If keys show a systematic fault (e.g. every 8th key does not work), then one of the keyboard matrix lines may have been interrupted (e.g. broken foil cable or a corroded PCB trace by battery leak acid or a bad solder joint). The bad connection needs to be found and resoldered.
Langor
I recently unearthed my Casio rapman last I played it was 2015 and worked great! Now it won’t turn on w adapter or batteries!!! Any chance this thing can be saved!? -Brian
mike71
The fact doesn't turn on could be a lot of things, some quite easy to spot and to solve and some not. A leak on the circuit board is really a problem when a dirty switch or a loose connector are not.
Chas
@Langor - You need to open it up and check for obvious electronic/ power issues. Establish whether power is getting from the adaptor/ battery compartment to the boards. Ensure that power is fed to the power switch and also back again. Start with the simple/ obvious and most likely culprits, and use a process of elimination.
