Perifractic
Hi guys, I'm now on my second SP-33 pedal unit so the fault isn't there. When I simply plug in the pedal unit, sustain gets stuck ON for all keys. It must be a fault in the piano. I've removed the PCB, no short connections. With a multimeter I tested continuity on all the 5 cables running from the 5 pin socket to the PCB. No shorts or problems there. I desoldered and resoldered that plug on the PCB. No change. One SMD did look badly soldered, with dark flux around it (could even be a leak) but I reflowed that solder under magnification. No change. Any other ideas before I look to replace the entire PCB? Also where can I source that PCB? Nothing coming up when I Google it on Yahoo 😉
Joe Muscara
I presume that when you hold the sustain pedal down, there is no sustain, and the pedal thus works opposite to what you expect, correct? If so, that's because the PX-130 needs the SP-32 pedal unit, not the SP-33. Earlier models use the SP-32, of which I believe the PX-130 is one.
Perifractic
Interesting. No, the pedal literally does nothing. Casio say the 33 is the correct pedal. 🤔
Brad Saucier
2 hours ago, Perifractic said: Casio say the 33 is the correct pedal. 🤔 The last item in the specs on this page confirms SP-32. SP-33 is for PX-150 and later models. I would go ahead and exchange the pedal unit with the correct model, then go from there. http://archive.casio.com/products/archive/Digital_Pianos_%26_Keyboards/Privia_Digital_Pianos/PX-130/content/Technical_Specs/
Perifractic
Damn it! Seems I've been misled by Casio. Oops. I will return it and get the 32. Thank you!
