I made this sawtooth wave Stage Setting for the intro to Ridin the Storm Out by REO Speedwagon. This should get you through the entire intro of the song. To perform the intro, I was starting by adjusting the resonance on slider 2 to get right level of nastiness before play. I then hit the low A note and slowly adjusted slider 1 for cutoff to get the nastiness too sweep. I set slider one to max out at the right spot. BTW: I have chorus on the mod wheel if you like to add some move it all the way up. Portamento will sweep you up to the next high C note but to turn around and bend back down to the high A you'll need to use the bender wheel. I set the bender to stop at the right spot. Then adjust slider one back down to lower the cutoff and then release the note to fade out.

I hope you enjoy. :)

I have to make a sad confession.  I've never heard the song or at least don't remember if I did.   For those who don't know, I made this Stage Setting to help out a fellow PX5 owner.   I made the sound based on the version he posted for me.  This version has some extra synth goodness at the start of the intro.

I don't know about the date Joe.  But something just dawned on me after looking at some other live versions.  That synth sound at the very beginning is supposed to be the stormy "wind" sound.    Duh.   If I had realized that when I made the stage setting I would've gone for a more authentic wind sound.

REO performed the wind thing live like that in one of the videos.   But, It's like you asked before Joe.  Which version does everyone think of?  That would be the one I would perform.

This is the one I play - albeit rarely.

(Same as posted earlier by Joe Muscara).

As aside when playing covers with various bands I am nearly always asked to play the studio version as this is usually the one most people are familiar with.
