PX780 - "wav" files on USB memory

Recommended Posts

I just bought a PX780, but I'm a real newbie and am struggling with learning how to use it.  The manual leaves a lot to be desired.

I apologize for my ignorance, but are there rules that must be followed to copy a WAV file onto a USB memory so that I can play it on my piano?  I know that the files must be labeled "TAKEXX" and stored on the AUDIO folder, but are there restrictions on what kind of file the piano will play?

For example, I converted an MP3 piano recording to WAV format, but my PX780 will not play it, and the display shows "Err - Wrong Data".  The original MP3 was a song from a piano CD which I converted to WAV using an audio converter utility (the WAV file plays fine on my PC).

Thanks in advance,

Sergio

Hi Sergio.. welcome to the forums. Yes it should be a 16 bit, 44.1 khz WAV file. Your conversion software should let you choose that format to save in..it is very common. B)

Thanks so much, Scott.  This time I converted the MP3 with Audacity, and the PX780 the file played with no problems.

I'm still trying to learn the various features of this unit...  So much to learn!!!

Thanks again,

Sergio

Hello, I just bought PX 780 too and I have a question regarding this topic.

I am able to play the songs WAV in the folder AUDIO, but when I put them into the PLAY folder, I'm not able to play them.

I'd like to know what type of song data (file format) can be stored inside PLAY folder.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks!

I don't have a 780, but from what I understand: The play folder is for "user songs" created on the PX-780. The idea here is you are able to play back the song without loading into memory.
