using the 350 with computer recording software

Boyoboy I am hating the manual that comes with this great keyboard.  Can anyone give me a hand?  I can get the 350 to put midi data into my recording software (Reaper) but can't figure how to designate different midi channels to different sounds in the 350 to play simultaneously.

Can anyone help???

Thanks!

Good question-I have the same. In other words, is there a "multi" mode as in other keyboards, where individual sounds can be assigned to specific midi channels? The manual regarding the 17-track sequencer as PianoManChuck clearly stated already has only basic info. Technodweeb that I am l need more than this!

Maybe Mr. Martin can help us. :)

My best guess is that whatever program change you assign for each track in Reaper will call up the sound you want in the PX providing it matches the  program change listed in the PX appendix page A-1 The PX sends and receives program change messages. You also need to input the "bank select" number for variations in the PX sounds, I don't remember how Reaper assigns bank select messages. And midi channels 10-14 are reserved for the auto-accompaniment tracks, so I'm not sure what happens if you try to use track 10-14 for your drums, percussion or anything else with the sequencer.

Here's another approach equally complicated (I just got my PX-350 so I'm still experimenting)................

If I manually select "tones"  in the Px along with each track channel number I wish to play with Reaper, and arm "record" as if I were going to record that track with that sound or "tone" from the PX, this (might) record the program change and bank select into that track (I think). I had to do this years back with another keyboard that would record the instrument designation internally in the selected track only by doing this, it would not recognize program change or bank select sent by a software sequencer-a real pain. And it is possible that once you set this all up if you haven't aged too much or forgotten what day it is, maybe this can be stored as a "registration" memory with all your assignments for a kind of "multi".

If anyone can help out here with a simpler explanation I am all ears.
