WK 3000

I am a jazz pianist and play my WK 3000 with these settings:  I have violins/348 layered with a grand piano/000.  I do this because it improves the sustain of the piano.  I use the 127 Jazz Combo2 rhythm which has an acoustic bass that diagnoses the chord and plays either every beat or alternate beats.

I am looking for someone with experience with this keyboard.   I wish there were a way I could get more of a sliding brush sound on the rhythm rather than a drum brush sound.

Does anyone have experience with this keyboard and know how I can do that?

Fortunately (???), if you do not find the tone suggested by BradMZ useable for your purpose, the WK-3000 can import WAV files as User Tones, if you can find a suitable WAV file, or have access to a sampler for sampling a sound of your choice, but this may be a lot easier said than done.  Raw WAV files are seldom, if ever, useable as-is.  You will most likely need to spend some time editing and shaping the WAV file with the tone editing parameters in order to make it useable.  Note that the WK-3000 will only edit and play WAV files that were sampled elsewhere.  The WK-3000 can not do the actual sampling, itself.

If you are interested in this, and do not already have a copy, you can download the IDES 2.0 Data Manager software from:

http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/emi/music_casio/en/wk3-20en.exe

The download site only shows compatibility up thru Windows XP, but I currently have it running under Win-7 64 bit with no problems.

You can download the IDES 2.0 Data Manager User's Guide from:

http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/emi/music_casio/en/wk3man-20en.zip

If you need a copy of the WK-3000 main manual, you can download it from here:

http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/WK3000_3100_3500_EN.pdf

See Pages 54 thru 58 of the WK-3000 main manual for creating and saving User Tones and Page 91 of the main manual and all of the IDES 2.0 Data Manager User's Guide for converting/editing samples and downloading them from the PC to the WK-3000.

Good luck !
