Save MIDI on a USB

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

Brad,

Thanks for the info. Was out of the country and have only now got a chance to try it out.

I have a USB stick already inserted.

I click "Function + USB mode" and hear a beep, and the lights blink just as described in the manual.

Next I push "Function and the Save key" and nothing happens.

No beep and no Grand Piano light flashing.

Any help would be appreciated.

David

Did you format the flash drive as described here?

Note:  There are 2 different types of recorders on the AP series keyboards.  Song Recorder and Audio recorder.   Song recorder is the only type of recording that can be saved as a midi file.

Recording a song is covered here.   http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/AP450_EN.pdf#page=15

Recording using the audio recorder is here.   http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/AP450_EN.pdf#page=20

Hi!

I also want to save a recorded song from the song recorder to the USB Stick.
Our piano teacher was here and saved her part of a duet to our song recorder.
Now i want to save it on an USB stick to be able to load it again. The kids often use the song recorder, but it only takes one single song.
In the manual on Page 31 is written that i have to select the song number. Does this mean i select the number that selects the folder on the Stick?
For me it sounds like i only can save one of the tracks above 60 to the stick and not the single one from the song recorder.
I dont want to try it out afraid to loose the recording from the song recorder.
The manual is not easy to understand for me in this point.

What i want to do in short:

1. Record the song from the song recorder as a midi to USB

2. Reload the Song from USB later, to play it together with my live playing

3. Is it possible to save the Song Recorder Song at a memory storage above 60 without using USB as a bridge?

Thank you!

Sorry, english is not my native language.

Hi Steffen and welcome.  Sorry about the manual.  They a very poorly written.  I also have a hard time understanding the manual.  I do not own an AP model keyboard so I can only guess what the manual might mean.

Sounds like you will have to store the song to usb.  I see no other way.

It sounds like they want you to choose a save location "folder" on the usb drive.  These sub folders are named 61 thru 70.  When you specify the number as the manual says, this becomes the song's location on the drive.

Hope that helps some.
