XW dust covers

Does anyone know if Casio made a dust cover for the XW series? With their flat surfaces, all keyboards/ synths quickly attract dust when left exposed, so a simple dust cover would be great for when they're not in use. Somehow I managed to acquire a genuine Casio dust cover with one of my many Casios (I can't remember which though!) It fits a treat and you can see it pictured covering my G1, with the exposed P1 below. The model number of the cover is 'C-47'.

I'd love to get a matching cover, or find another cover(s) at a reasonable price to keep my XW's dust free when I'm not using them. Anyone know where I can find such dust covers, or know if Casio offered covers for the XW's?

Another solution-I've bought naugahyde by the yard available at Walmfart and other craft/upholstery stores for cheap and with a little cutting/stitching made my own covers which last for years and keep dust off real well. You can "roll yer own" color and custom size. After buying cheapo plastic covers that split and tore after a month, and are usually so thin that sneezing blows 'em off I got fed up and just started making me own. For about 20 bucks, you can get enough naugabeast to make three-four covers. Even if you don't want to custom stitch the corners to fit just laying a piece of this on top works pretty good in a pinch. Neat craft project to kill a few minutes-or get your "significant other" to do it for you if you have one. Just me 2 cents.

Sounds like an excellent idea, and as there doesn't seem to be any other XW specific covers available this is a great alternative. There are some generic dust covers on Ebay, though the aren't exactly cheap. Your idea sound far more cost effective Jokeyman, and you are right that they will probably last a lot longer than the wafer thin vinyl covers. Saying that, the genuine Casio cover I have appears to be a lot stronger than it initially feels, a shame that Casio appear to have discontinued them.

I also had a quick look on Ebay for "naugahyde", and it doesn't appear to be available in the UK. There are plenty of suppliers for 'leatherette', which looks to be similar. I may well pick some up and get the old needle and thread out for some custom XW dust covers B)

I've been ordering custom dust covers from a website based in Illinois or Wisconsin I think called Lecover.com.

For about $20 apiece, plus shipping, Larry, the owner, will whip up a custom cover to the right dimensions from a selection of fabrics and nowadays he's added a computerized embroidery stitcher that will stitch any name you'd like on the cover for no added cost.

He uses a waterproof rubberized nylon that's very good quality and a choice of black, navy or gray.

Actually shipping to the UK may not be as bad as you think.  He ships in a standard 12"" x 9 " manilla envelope and sends via lettermail.

Shipping to Canada was only about $5 and it breezed past customs without any taxes or duty.

Phone him up and ask his rates to the UK.  He's very friendly and accommodating and has no problem with accepting phone orders.
