sus4
Hello, I'm considering purchasing a PX350 and the question I have is: when you have a split keyboard and you have a bass in the left hand and a piano in the right, does the sustain pedal sustain the entire keyboard or just the right hand? I'm hoping it just sustains the right hand or have an option to set it the way you want. Thanks.
Brad Saucier
You may want to read through the PDF manual for the keyboard. http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/Web_PX350-E-1B.pdf I don't have that model so I'm not sure but I would say the pedal will sustain both tones without an option to disable it. Again, not sure. I have the PX-5S. It does allow the sustain function to be disabled for the lower tone.
sus4
BradMZ, Thanks for responding. I looked thru the PX350 manual and didn't see anything that talks about what I'm looking for it to do.Maybe someone who owns the 350 will respond. Thanks. Display Name
Hi Sus4 and welcome to the Casio Forums! Yes you can sustain one part of the spilt.. this isn't in the manual but here's what you do: After selecting your split point, cursor to the right to and there will be a hold pedal option for the split.Choose the option you want. Have fun with your new Casio!
sus4
Scott, that was the answer I was looking for. I don't own the PX350 yet and that was one of the points that I was concerned about. I'm definitely going back check it out again and when I get I'll let you know. I see you live in Florida too. I'm down in Boynton Beach. Thanks again.

sus4
Scott, I just read a review on Amazon and the person who wrote about it said the sustain pedal sustains the whole piano when it is split.Maybe he doesn't know about hold pedal option split. Woud you please double check that option again and if you would, do the split yourself and see if you have the option of just putting the sustain on the right hand.I would appreciate it.Thanks, sus4
Brad Saucier
Mike Martin from Casio America confirmed it here. Scroll down to his second response. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2498109/Casio_Privia_Split_with_no_sus
sus4
But, if you continue to scroll down, about half way, you'll see he discovers that you can just sustain just the right side of the keyboard. Apparently there is an option to do this.

sus4
I am now the proud owner of the Privia PX-350M. I should be receiving it soon. It definitely does what I was talking about above with the sustain pedal.Looking forward to playing it.
