Estevez
I am thinking of buying XW-G1 and watched lots of videos etc. but could not find answers to the following questions:1. I know you can sample up to 19 seconds into G1 but does this mean that it takes only one sample up to 19 seconds or there can be several samples 19 seconds each?2. If answer to 1 is yes, then can more than one sample be played at the same time (or used at the same time) ?3. Can samples be manipulated ? I know you can chose to play only part of the sample but can you e.g. reverse the sample or add effects to sample ?Thanks a lot !!!
Display Name
The looper lets you layer samples on top of each other in real time... so you can have as many as you want.. they just keep piling on top of each other. It is most useful for live performances. Brad found a really good demo of a guy looping a guitar over and over.. maybe he still has the URL. Brad Saucier
I just answered a sampler question with a long post this morning. Here it is. http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/5311-could-someone-help-answer-a-few-of-my-g1-questions/#entry12575 For your specific questions 1) The looper (not to be confused with user wave tones) has room for 10 samples each 19 seconds max. User wave tones and the looper share the same memory slots. As Scott mentioned, looper record mode allows overdubbing. Additional details in my answer following the link.2) Yes as user wave tones. See the link.3) Also covered in the link. Additionally, there no reverse mode but that can easily be done in software like Audacity on the PC before exporting samples to the G1. Here's the guitar player Scott mentioned. Had to look it up again. http://youtu.be/tVJZVnfahuw?t=16m35s

Brad Saucier
The G1 alters sample pitch by changing the speed of sample playback. Audacity can be used to compress a sample time-wise by using it's CHANGE SPEED effect. The G1 can then restore the original speed by pitch shifting the sample upwards. This lowers the sample rate thus making it more lo-fi but allows more sample time.
