PJB
Hi, I recently bought a CDP-120 to use as my MIDI controller with my computer iMac OS 10.9.1. I am unable to get my software - Finale 2011 - to respond to the keyboard. The Audio MIDI Setup does register the keyborad, the icon is there and the test shows that the iMac recieves the signal. The problem is with FInale. It doesn't respond to the keyboard, so I cannot enter notes with my new Casio. I did read somewhere on the web that the CDP-120 does not have Midi in/out, but that makes no sense if my Mac is recieve it's signal. Any answers appreciated. Joe Muscara
Try this app. It will tell you for sure if the MIDI data is making it to the computer. http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ How are you connecting the CDP-120 to the iMac? Joe Muscara
P.S. Try it with GarageBand just to see if you can get that working. If it and the above app show that everything is okay, the problem is Finale. You may have to change some preference or setting in it. Null
I haven't really worked with Macs, but if your Finale is anything like every other software you may have to set it's configuration to recognize the CDP. Take a look around under the menus for Options or Preferences or MIDI Devices or something like that. The CDP should appear somewhere in there already and simply needs to be selected.
