New here. Just a few ?s

Just picked up the PX-5S last week.  Just a few questions I can't seem to find on this forum.  Is there a compare button anywhere?  When I modify a stage setting I'd like to hear what the original sounded like before I write anything into memory.

Also, a few times when messing with the sliders I will lose volume (I know some sliders are set to modify the volume) but when I change to a different stage setting I seem to have lost the volume on whatever different stage setting I hit.  The only thing I noticed is there is some sort of asterix next to the numbers on the screen.  I'm having a bit of a time getting my head around the GUI on this board.  The first Casio i have owned.  Really like the action.  Thanks.

No there is no compare Button i also  asked a few times to add it in a software update but nope you have to be carefull to don´t touch a wrong button

the biggest problem is the ENTER button sometimes i push the Stage 8 Button and al is gone ..so setup your PX5S with to empty stages and save your work often to it...to recall the last setting if you loose it...

About the Volume Sliders they can be setup in defferent ways for each Stage Setting so the Sliders differs from Stage to Stage...

@katie

Hello,

No compare button.  An option is to use 2 stage settings: 1 has the original sound, the second is the sound you edit.  For example, let's say you want to change 4-0.  First copy 4-0 into 4-1 (or some other stage setting you don't mind writing over):

Write > Stage Setting > Enter

at the top of the Px-5s display, you will see a stage setting number.  Change this to 4-1 using the + or - keys on the far upper right side of the keyboard or use Knob 2 to dial in the stage setting number.

Once you have changed the number, press Enter and follow the prompts.

Now edit 4-1 as much as you want.  Write it to itself.  Then if you want to compare, switch back to 4-0.  Then Switch back to 4-1 to continue editing.  Remember to Write the changes, because once you switch stage settings (between 4-0 and 4-1) in this example), anything not saved is gone.

You can do something similar using the editor.

Regarding sliders, like Mau Van said, anytime you switch to a different stage setting, the sound values change to the new stage setting.  The slider positions for the current stage setting do not maintain the values for the newly selected stage setting.

An asterisk next to the stage setting number/name means the stage setting is playing how it was saved in memory.  If the asterisk changes to an exclamation point !, then that means the stage setting has been changed somehow and those changes are not yet committed to memory, either the sliders/knobs have been moved or some other edits took place.
