PX-130 All keys sounding an octave lower

Hello and thanks for reading this post. I'm having an issue with my Casio PX-130 and hoping to get some troubleshooting ideas or suggestions on what to do.

The keys seems to have shifted an octave lower. So middle C for example sounds like the C one octave below it. My son has to play all his music an octave higher to get it the way it's written in his music books.

I called the Casio support line, and the support person took my info and stated that I will receive a call from another department, but it's been over week and no call.

I've had it for about 2 years and I got an extra 2 year warranty from Casio when I purchased it.

Has anyone experienced or seen this issue before? Any advice?

After reading the PX-130 manual, pages 19-21 describe how to "octave shift" the entire keyboard. Apparently, you must push and hold the "function" button while pressing one of 2 keys in the lower octave range of the PX-130-the "A" key moves it down an octave, the "Bb" moves it up. You have a 2-octave shift range up or down. Only after you press one of these keys do you release the function button. If you already knew this, sorry to be repetitious but after looking at the manual, it doesn't look so simple if you are not used to making changes this way, using the keyboard keys to adjust the keyboard. If this doesn't work, then there may be a technical problem, Following this logic, it was entirely possible someone pushed the function button and hit one of the keys used to shift the octave without realizing it. Worse things have happened (see my other posts!) Hope this solves the problem.

I've still not been able to resolve this. We found out that holding the function and the temperament changes the temperament to something that helps with his practice but we have to do so each time we turn off/on the piano. I was looking for a way to do a factory reset but can't find it online nor in the user manual.

Mike Martin, it's 12:13am Eastern time and I just wanted to say a big "Thank You" to you for your solution! This backup "Function + Key" combination has fixed this issue that has been a nuance for months. I spent an hour on the phone with Casio Tech Support on Friday and they could not find a "Function + Key" combination to resolve this issue. I was going to have to send my keyboard in for repairs this week. I also appreciate everyone's help on this forum. Thank you all so much.
