Richard Schweitzer
I think I know the answer... I'm playing an old Privia PX-300, and there isn't a slide or bend bar... is there a way to do that, maybe via the pressure senstive keys or something? Just wanting to be able to slide a note in pitch and hoping there is a work around.
User 29303
maybe if you try with a DAW in your computer like Cubase and select midi messages you could try to do this with an midipedal ...
Richard Schweitzer
Yeah, probably the only answer, maybe that or with pitch bend... sounds labor intensive, but there you go. Thanks.
MaliceCooper
Do you have an iphone or ipad? Maybe something like this https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ibend-midi-pro/id443381543?mt=8 ?
Richard Schweitzer
While that looks interesting, I don't work from pads, not nearly enough resources. I'm on a desktop PC system. (Also, not an Apple fan, even a little)... but thanks for the suggestion, maybe there's something similar for PC... not very confident about that. MaliceCooper
One more idea http://vmeter.net
Null
First off shouldn't you be able to assign like a two or three octave range to the pitch bend wheel to accomplish this? If that's not possible though, Kurzweil made a MIDI accessory ribbon controller a few years ago called the expressionmate. It's no longer in production but every once in a while if you keep your eyes open one turns up on ebay. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/may00/articles/kurzweil.htm Anyway, most people nowadays hang on to them like they're made of gold and price them on ebay accordingly but you may get lucky. MaliceCooper
I've been looking for an expression mate and haven't had much luck. The Doepfer R2M may be a nice alternative. http://www.doepfer.de/R2M.htm
Null
The Doepfer looks cool and the price is not that far out of line with what the Expressionmate sold for new and still sells for used on ebay nowadays. I'm lucky in that I have a PC2SRIB controller on my Kurzweil and that they still support them on their own keyboards. I gotta say ribbon controllers are the Bees Knees though... Richard Schweitzer
Happyrat, there is no pitch bend wheel, that's the issue. The Vmeter looks interesting... out ot town on a job, i'll check out these ideas in detail later, thanks guys.
