moogy
I tried to use my Roland EV-5 to control my PX-5S and no go! What pedal is good? Thanks.
Display Name
The PX-5S does not have an expression pedal input. Probably the best and easiest way to do volume via a foot pedal is to use something like the Boss fv-500l. With this, you run the audio output of the 5S into the pedal and then the output of the pedal to your mixer/amp/PA.
moogy
So what does pedal 2 effect then? Also why are all the synth solo sounds always poly not mono from Casio? In the extreme sound set it's still the same. In the programmer on my Mac I don't see a place to mono a sound, thanks.
Display Name
You can set pedal 2 to control just about anything, but it is on/off not continuous. Some examples are program change (up one or down one), rotary for organ, envelope. Full list of controls are on page e-34 of the tutorial manual under "TARGET" http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/Web_PX5S-E-2B_EN.pdfRegarding mono, the PX-5S does not have a monophonic mode. moogy
Got it. Thanks for all that.On another matter, while using the programmer I keep getting an error message saying, "Piano Data Different." Whats up? Thanks.
jaspeter
Whenever you save or do a similar action with the editor, it has to synch up with the piano to make sure it's saving what you think it's saving. Sometimes that message occurs because you've changed settings from the keyboard while using the editor, but sometimes it seems to do it randomly. Regardless, you can resynch it by clicking the button with the two blue arrows in the top right of the editor screen. Then it should save OK.
