DustyMorrow
Good day, Newbie here, to both the forum and the world of synthesizers! I bought the XW-P1 a couple of months ago, and i am still learning(at a very slow pace haha). I was wondering if anyone could do direct to to a thread or a site that entails the process of how do download new sounds onto the keyboard. I know the downloads are here on the site, but how do you actually download it to the keyboard? Sorry for the newbie questions and thanks for any replys!
Display Name
Hi and welcome to the forums. You can either put the downloaded sound on a SD card and load it onto the XW that way...(page e-77 http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/XWP1_1B_EN.pdf) Or you can use the Data Editor with a PC/MAC and upload it to the XW that way,..(page 9 http://support.casio.com/en/support/download_files/en/008/manuals/DATAEDITORS1-E1B.pdf)Have fun with the new sounds!
DustyMorrow
Thank you, i have the data editor. I am trying to figure it out, i have some downloaded sounds but they are .ZPF files and it is telling me that this is not the correct format. Do you know of any detailed information that explains this process? Thank you!!
- T -
Dusty ZPF files are "Package" files that allow for the quick download of preselected collections of tone, phrase, sequence, DSP setting, etc files to the XW, for, say, gigs, performances, or for various sections thereof, or as a time saving file loading convenience in the studio. Their creation, editing, and loading to the XW requires the XW Data Editor. They can not be directly loaded to the XW from the SD Card and their handling is somewhat different from the way individual tone, phrase, etc files are handled. When you downloaded your Data Editor, it should have come with its own manual: "DATAEDITORS1-E1B.pdf". If you missed it or discarded it in error, you can get a complete new copy of the Editor with its manual from: http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=20 For your particular keyboard, be sure to get the one for the XW-P1. Refer to Pages 17 through 23 of the Data Editor Manual for the handling of ZPF "Package" files. Good luck !
DustyMorrow
Thank you, i figured out how to get some new sounds finally. I still cannot find the manual for the data editor though. I have the data editor package on my pc like 3 times, and i do not see a pdf file in any of those. Thanks again
- T -
Sorry Dusty ! I thought the User's Guide was bundled with the Data Editor download. You can download a copy of the User's Guide directly from here: http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=66 Read down the page until you find the line: "User's Guide Download (English): DATAEDITORS1-E1B.pdf (868KB)" and click on the [ Download V ] button to the right of it.
