Wolff
Hey guys, I just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem. The thing is that I bought the px-5s on about the 20th of april and I really haven't been able to play it that much since, and some weeks ago some keys have been getting softer to the point where it just doesn't feels good anymore. The most frustrating part is that I live and South America and the shipping from the US is like 200 dollars and I feel it's such a waste. Does anyone know if there's an easy fix for this? I'd really appreciate any coments. I really like this keyboard and I don't want to have to sell it.The keys affected are about two octaves up from middle C. Joe Muscara
Sorry, what do you mean by "some keys have been getting softer" - in feel or volume? Have you tried different Stage Settings? What happens when you use the PX-5S to control an external sound source? Plug the PX-5S into your computer and look at the MIDI data with MIDI Ox or MIDI Monitor depending on platform. Has the keyboard been exposed to any dirty environments? Hopefully we can get this sorted for you.
Wolff
Hi Joe, what I meant is that the (white) keys in that zone are offering less resistance to the touch, kinda like a semi-weighted action, and no, the keyboard wasn't exposed to a dirty enviroment. Joe Muscara
That seems really odd and I don't recall having heard of such a problem before. Hopefully someone will be able to guide you to a fix or a way to get it fixed or replaced. Did you buy it from the U.S.?
Brad Saucier
The action is a "scaled" hammer action. The key weight changes gradually as you cross the board. The upper octaves are designed to feel lighter than the lower bass octaves. It's a feature.
Wolff
well, a friend came by and told me that it isn't that bad, i guess it was just an illusion made by playing on really harder actions, i guess i can live with it, taking in count all the other features
