Programing drums/sounds using Phrase?? Question

Hey guys. I just ordered the PX-5s.

I’m new and maybe this is a newbie question.

Using the “Phrase” is it possible to program a simple drum pattern (maybe even quantized) on say zone 1 and then program another bass line on zone 2? And have them play at different times...

Example, trigger the programmed drums to start song by pressing a key, have drums play for 2 bars and then start the bass line with another key? And then zones 3 and 4 can be used to play anything else in real time (piano/synth…) for however long i want to play while the bass and drums keep looping -- or continuing for how many bars i set up?

Thanks

yeah, you could trigger a drum phrase in zone 1 by pressing the start/stop button (turn zone 1 off so other drums won't sound when you hit a key, the phrase will play regardless of whether zone 1 is on or off).

Then for zone 2, select your looped phrase in the arpeggiator and turn off the arpeggiator for the other zones. Make sure it's set to fixed and the arpeggiator is set to play repeatedly (by pressing the sys setting button and arp button together so the light flahes). Next time you press a key, the bass loop will start. Then on zone 3/4 you can play over it.

I've attached a stage setting to demonstrate this. Press start/stop to start the drum loop on zone 1 and then press any key on the keyboard to start the looped phrase in  arpeggiator for zone 2. Then create and save your own phrases and select those in place.

You could also just select the drum in the arpeggiator for zone 1 aswell and bring in the zones using sliders or other controls set to control the volume or cut/off of zones.
