Nick
Hi all,Is it possible to send a sysex message to the Px5s with a parameter value indicating the stage setting number and receive as response another sysex msg that contains the name (encoded in ASCII code or other format) of the related stage setting ? Has anybody attempted to accoplish this ? Thank you.
Ebonivor
Page 52 of the Midi Implementation Manual indicates that this is possible, so perhaps someone with a comprehensive understanding of MIDI can guide you through the process...unfortunately it's way beyond me. Brad Saucier
Of course it's possible. The PX-5s data editor does this when you select a stage setting to edit.
Choppin
Hi Nick, what's your goal? There may be another solution besides midi sysex messages depending on what you are after.
Nick
Thank you all. I completely forgot about the midi implementation chart! The midi chart seems pretty exaustive and not very difficult to interpret. I would like to create an application for my ipad that lists automatically all stage settings and the user can select one for playing. The app would also keep track (database) of stage settings that have changed name. I will share the results if I find the time to develop the application. Thanks again. Ebonivor
Nick, that would be amazing if you can get it done. Good luck with it!
