Jingo
Good day, Recently got a CDP230 for my son. Was wondering if i had an mp3 could i load it into the song bank and how could i get it to tell what keys go with the song so we can see it play on the screen? Total newbie here so any suggestions would help. ThanksJ
Null
Short answer... "No you can't." Long answer. Read pages E-58 to E-68 in your manual about how to load SMF Standard MIDI files from computer or memory card. http://support.casio.com/en/manual/manualfile.php?cid=008006005 An MP3 is a compressed digital audio file. In order to recognize which notes are being played the CDP-230 R needs to see data in Digital MIDI format or rather the Casio equivalent. You'll have to learn the procedure in the manuals about how to download standard MID files from the internet and then convert them to Casio format and import them using the Data Manager utility. If you are still uncertain about the differences between audio MP3's and MIDI files I'd suggest a bit of creative googling to learn what they are all about. Do you know how to convert a midi into a Casio friendly MIDI format for the CDP-230R? Where can I get a more information on this? I'm trying to find out what criteria the CDP-230R wants for midi's to show the keys properly and ensure the fast forward & rewind works measure by measure instead of going all the way back to the start of the song.
