Null
Over on the Kurzweil Forums someone showed a link to a Kurzweil PC3K Coffee Mug. That got me thinking and I found this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-casio-XW-P1-digital-synthesizer-mug-cup-studio-DJ-producer-/271580021455?pt=UK_Collectables_Kitchenalia_RL&hash=item3f3b6e42cf But then again, if you want to save shipping costs, just design your own graphic and have Walmart Photo custom make your mug for $9 with in store pickup in a couple of days. http://photos.walmart.com/walmart/storepage/storePageId=Mugs/ Anyway, yet another way to prove you are the biggest music geek in town :D Actually we could use this thread as a contest to see who can come up with the best graphic. Larry
NO, see Gary. With this new outstanding casio cup you will have to at the least set around a few - you know caffine/liq up a bit.Might as well toss on a few slice's of bacon and an egg or 3.Your in it to win it, and if you just got done "Winning it" then it's time to call in sick- per meeting. Can't be at the meeting hafe drunk anyway Larry
Null
But that's what I got the cup FOR in the first place. My secret family recipe for a sailor's breakfast... 1) Light up a cigarette... 2) Hop out of bed and brew a pot of coffee... 3) Repeat from step one until you stroke out... 4) Die young and leave a LOVELY corpse... Null
Except now I've ordered in a MIDI Woodwind. The Akai EWI USB Pro Back in the days when I couldn't afford a keyboard I cut my musical chops on an old Yamaha YFL-24S Boehm Flute. Now for the same price I paid around 1975 for the flute I picked up the Akai... Gary
Lester Burnham
Except now I've ordered in a MIDI Woodwind. Hearing Michael Brecker play one on a Steps Ahead album from the late 80s, was epic (In a sentimental mood).
Null
It's a very cool instrument, but be prepared to throw everything you learned on real woodwinds out the door. G, G# and A are not controlled by the left thumb. Instead it controls the octave switching. Be prepared to learn an entirely different style of fingering. http://www.patchmanmusic.com/EWIFingeringOneWatts.pdf Also breath control is not like any other instrument. Instead of maintaining a constant airflow the sensor is pressure sensitive so it's like holding your breath whenever you're playing a string of notes. It's a little weird to get used to but it will give me a project to deal with thru the winter, Gary
Lester Burnham
This is Brecker playing an EWI on the studio / album version from Step's Ahead, Magnetic album:-
Null
I hadn't realized that Brecker had passed away until I read the comments section on that video. In 2007 he passed away from leukemia. He was only 68. Imagine what more he could have accomplished if he were still alive today. Joe Muscara
And I've just realized Lester Burnham is not his real name. Yes, sometimes it's years before I finally see a movie. This one was just last night.
