Sustain Pedal in logic

The sustained pedal works but in logic it sees the pedal being pressed but on playing it back it does not see it.

DO you have recording filters set up that may exclude it?

I'm not sure if you're saying that the PX-5S isn't seeing the sustain coming from Logic, or if when playing software instruments in Logic controlled by the PX-5S they're not sustaining when the pedal was pressed during playback of the track.

 

Logic can show MIDI events so you should be able to see the value of the pedal throughout the track.

Logic seems to see it and record it but does not play it back into the PX 5s.(plays the notes but not the s.pedal)

It seems logic is doing all it should with no filters which gives the impression the the PX 5s is filtering out receiving the sustain pedal information.

Can it do that?

Do you have some other keyboard you can control the PX-5S with? You could play it and see if the PX-5S responds to the sustain pedal from the other keyboard.

No Joe,(only a hammond with no sustain)  but that would in fact be a good idea.

 

Just to reverse the situation,

is there any way on the CASIO of filtering out the pedal information coming in,perhaps I have "it" on by mistake ?

I wish I knew. I don't use Logic enough to know if it can do that, nor have I played with that sort of aspect of the PX-5S to know where that might be on it. Hopefully someone will pop their head in here and respond.

can the PX5s filter incoming commands ?

Check your Stage Setting:
Press Edit, select Stage Setting, scroll down to Common Edit.  Check the settings for Pedal1.  Make certain it is set to Hold CC#64.   If you're using one of the default organ or clav settings, pedal1 has a different setting. 

Next go to Zone Edit, then Controller Edit.   Confirm that Pedal1 is enabled.

I found the solution

It was in fact the PX5s was filtering the information coming back from logic

 

(which is good to know in case you want it)

Control Change(off)

 

I,(master dumbo)

 had it on
