Display Name
The new sampling keyboards are starting to get out. The CTK-2400 is probably the closest to the awesome SK-1 from the 80s.. same price to: $99.99 street. Amazing price for all it does.. and it has USB MIDI!Full review:http://www.emilyreviews.com/2014/08/casio-ctk-2400-digital-keyboard-creating-music-made-easy.html
waveformer
Easy sampling is always loads of fun, whether you're a kid or a middle aged guy who still acts like a kid (like me).
kstatfeld
I recently purchased a CTK-2400, but when using headphones there is a crackly, static sound. It is definitely not the headphones or adapter plug because I have tried different of each. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, any idea how to deal with/fix? thanks. Brad Saucier
Does it sound that way without headphones? Is the unit new? Can you exchange at the retailer? If not, Casio has a 1 year warranty. http://www.casio.com/support/warranties/musdvcwarr.htm
kstatfeld
doesn't make the sounds without headphones. new unit. Toys R us wouldn't take back because I didn't have the original packaging and they could not exchange because they did not have any more units. Casio says I must ship to their repair facility. Not sure what the shipping and packaging for something that size will be, but I am sure more than I want to spend. thanks.
Brad Saucier
I'm sorry for your trouble. Are you able to jiggle the jack and get some extra noise? That would help indicate an internal physical problem. You can also check for Casio service centers. One may be near you and you could save shipping. I am assuming USA. http://www.casio.com/support/musicservicecenters
kstatfeld
I can check the jack jiggle thing later as I am at work now. I know the problem is not the headphones or adapter plug because I have tried different ones of each. It could be the jack or I guess something inside the unit. so frustrating as it is requiring so much of my time and effort to deal with instead of being an enjoyable purchase. Casio says I cannot bring it to a local repair place even though I am in manhattan and there are probably a thousand electronics repair places here. That will require buying packaging and shipping costs, and extra waiting time.
Brad Saucier
There are quite a few authorized Casio repair shops near you, in New York and Jersey. I would give one of them a call directly and see what they say about warranty repair. Here are the locations and info.... http://www.casio.com/support/musicservicecenters#NY
