Stinky music

Hi.

I have brought some second hand music off ebay.

Unfortunately the music has come from a smokers home and it smells like the cat has pissed on it.

It wreeks.

Sorry if any of you smoke in your homes but I don't and it stinks.

Has any of you got any tips on how to get rid of the stench.

It's a collectors book so scanning it in wont do I'm afraid.

I'm sitting there playing the music and all I can smell is the stinky. I've tried my swimmers nose clip but if I'm playing a concert I will look abit strange sitting on stage with a nose clip on.

I've tried to spray Fabreeze on it but now I get Fabreeze and stinky music smell combined.

Any ideas on how to get rid of stinky pages?

Many thanks

Another slow and completely safe procedure is to use an ozone generator.  Typically a lot of electronic air cleaners produce negative ions or ozone.  Just place one underneath the book and let it run for a week or two.  No corrosive sprays or damaging dust particles.  Just a simple ionized oxygen environment that will neutralize the odors in a few weeks to a month.

But ozone may also bleach out non-black ink and crumble glue apart if too strong. But to unstink, a lower dose should be sufficient. A deo mat for fridge or kitchen hood (active carbon foam rubber) in a plastic bag or fridge box with the book may also help to unstink. Cig stench is awful but fortunately does not last forever.

Venting things out for a month usually removes most lung torpedo fumes naturally.

A real long time ago i worked with a guy that had an auto detail shop.

To get rid of smoke smell he used a can of some kinda stuff that is used for homes that have had a fire.

We put the can in the car pushed the button on the can and shut the doors for about 2 hours? or so.

Worked every time.

Darn i wish i could remember what the name of it was.

Just a thought.
