Different brightness settings when layering two sounds on PX-350?

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in the forums, but have been a close reader for a few months now.  I had a question with the brightness option in the PX-350 and would like to know if my question is possible.  I would like to make a layer of the Grand Piano and the "Warm Pad" GM tone, however I wanted to know if it is possible to have different brightness settings for each instrument.  I know the Grand Piano does have various brightness settings but not sure if it can also be applied to the warm pad layer as well.  I don't know if it is possible to apply the brightness settings to other sounds besides the piano either.

The good news is that any sound will respond to changing the brilliance (brightness) setting. The bad news is that this is a global setting. Even though you can store a layer in a registration memory slot with settings for brilliance, reverb etc. you cannot specify 2 different brilliance settings for 2 distinct tones as far as I can tell. A shame really although the volume balance can be saved in a registration which can help. I have to remind myself this is a digital piano not a workstation, so lacks many of the functions of. Too bad, this would be a killer workstation with just a few more built-in functions.

Not alot. it is a kind of simple "equalizer" except it only increases the high frequency response, but not by alot. I've been trying to hack into the PX350 to get more control of settings like this, but haven't done it...yet! Took me a long time just to get the key action just the way I like it. It wasn't bad, but I like to mess with stuff I shouldn't. Makes life interesting sometimes. Sometimes....
