Klavishko
Hi, guys! This is my blind piano sound test Nord Stage 2 VS Casio PX-5S. Where sound is better? Thanks for listening! Hope on your feedbacks. Please, NO SPOILER)
Redwave
No idea which is which but I slightly preferred #2: more dynamics, realism, warmth and stereo definition. Obviously much of this would be affected by the choice of program, especially on the Casio.
Jokeyman123
Very close, very. The first seems a little less "brittle" than the second on certain passages, I tiny bit more realistic in the upper and middle registers. Ican't tell which is the Casio though. I suspect it's the first. I don't hear any obvious bad loops in either. I'll have to listen again through a better sound system.
dc2k
so when are you going to tell us?
Choppin
Which sounds better? Not sure if I'd say better or worse. 1 seems a little brighter to me, 2 a little more mellow - sounds like it's EQed to emphasize middle. I like both for different uses. I'd probably go with 1 though over all.
XW-Addict
The first has bottom and top of its spectrum, its sounds like a piano standing firm on its place and resonating while played absorbing its surrounding. The second bright colorful wide spectrum but no bottom the sound surfaces up in a cheerful way made to sound for specific room types. The second reminds me of piano sounds mostly sough in Blues, Country Worship music, The first is so typical piano lend themselves to their surrounding which emit their brightness/dullness/resonance its never quiet there this one sounds like that. User 29303
Just one question is the record clean from the Output or passed by a external effect unit ?
maarkr
#1 sounds smoother with the keystrokes, #2 seemed to have more attack and less resonance at the end of the notes... I would guess that #2 is the Casio just from the key action... but the sound could maybe be adjusted to the smoother #1. ????
Klavishko
Just one question is the record clean from the Output or passed by a external effect unit ? Both pianos recorded without any external effects, but with own reverb (small stage reverb)
Edward
#1 seems to my ear to be a cleaner sound; #2 seems to have a wee bit more depth. I think I prefer #1, but I would be happy to go with #2 as well. Both are quite good.
Hugh O Kelly
Well now let me think (tink)I'm going to buy a new 88 note weighted keyboard One is 18.5 Kilos and the other is 11.5The Nord is nearly three times the price The Casio is 256 note polyphonic 4 arp. and phrases etc etc etc That is a lot of money for a bit of red paint About the comparisonsPlaying piano is very subjective on the one hand and subtleties of feel come into it. The Casio has allowed me to love the piano again because it talks back to me,ever so sweetly.
