dcorbin87
Hi everyone, I have had a px-330 for about 3 years now and I'm encountering a problem with the velocity on my keyboard. When I'm playing the keyboard, some of the keys suddenly play at the max 127 velocity, even though I'm not hitting it that hard. They key will continue to play at 127 velocity for several hits, even if I'm barely touching it. I've hooked it up to record MIDI, and it seems like the keyboard is sending out 2 pieces of velocity information when it has this problem, the actual velocity and the 127. I know this because 2 notes are actually recorded on the MIDI track from the 1 hit. I've called technical assistance, done a factory reset, changed velocity setting, basically done everything I can think of (short of taking it in for repair). Does anyone have any suggestions or have you encountered a similar problem? Thanks very much
Joe Muscara
I wonder if it's dirty contacts. I don't know if it explains the double outputs though.
Jokeyman123
Not sure what's wrong without taking it apart but if the 330 has the same tri-hammer action as my px350, there are actually 3 different levels of sensors under the keys which bring in different piano samples depending upon keystroke depth and velocity when you play. If you've been playing the 330 for any length of time, the sensors may have compressed so you will get a reading from 2 sensors at the same time if they are at the same physical level now. I'm just guessing but this sounds like something that needs to be checked by a Casio technician. If the parts are damaged inside from what I've seen in mine, I would not try to do this yourself. dcorbin87
Thank you so much for the input, guys. From what I can tell, it does have the same (or at least very similar) tri-hammer action. I will take it in to get it looked at professionally and hopefully it will be repairable. I'll post back once the official diagnosis is in.
