GSI Burn or Neo Ventilator II for PX-5S

I'm going to buy one or the other to play my PX through.  I'll use it some for recording and some for live performance.  Not concerned about the price difference.  I'm liking the Burn because it has programmable presets and control via midi.  I don't know if I personally can tell much difference in the sound.

Which one do you like and why?

Thanks in advance - Barry

Hi Barry. It really depends what you want. The Vent seems to have the better Leslie and overdrive effect, but the Burn is more versatile (other effects & MIDI). I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either one. To my ears the Burn rotary and OD sounds perfectly fine and, unless your listeners are die-hard Hammondites, they will think so too.  But if you are going for THAT Hammond sound, I think the Vent is the way to go.

For what it's worth, if I had to pick one, I would go with the Burn.  :)

I have the Burn but I still haven't used it much yet. I like the idea of presets even though I tend to be a tweaker and I don't look for presets to do cover songs or anything. I like that the Burn has much more than just the Leslie sim. It has some amp models and some effects, too as Scott mentioned. It's also upgradable to whatever degree Guido S. has allowed. I don't know if the Vents are. OTOH, I do like the small size and design of the Mini Vent a lot. Set it and forget it.

Not to get too off track with the thread, but as a less expensive option, the behringer rm600 rotary pedal does a fairly convincing job on the few organ heavy songs I play when gigging out. While certainly not the Burn or the Vent, it does add some nice rotary type effect to the px5s. Just a suggestion.
