goergtn
For the life of me, I cannot get phrases I have already recorded, or newly recorded ones, to play back on any zone except #1. Is this the case ? What if you want 2 different phrases playing two sounds in sync, not possible ? Should I be looking at assigning "arps" to trigger phrases ?Thanx in advance - Dan
Brad Saucier
Yes. The Phrase player only plays on zone 1. To use multiple phrases you have to assign them to the arpeggiators.
goergtn
Thanks, Brad. I thought that must be the case. Is there any way to start the arps other than hitting a key? Can't I assign something else to start the arps, and then play on top of them without re-triggering?
Brad Saucier
You'll have to use a key. What you do is.... edit the key range of the zones with the phrases down to 1 key. Maybe choose the lowest key. This will allow you to trigger the phrases and play over them while not affecting them. You also might want to look into setting the phrase orig note to FIX. goergtn
Thanks again. That's exactly what I ended up doing. You must be a genius, cause you think like me. Now I will do the Intro to "At Last" perfect every time. Just hit that low "A", play little air-keys, and grab that C9 chord at the end. Nobody has to know.Too bad I can't start it some other way - I will be so paranoid about hitting that trigger note.
elecmuse3
re "At Last" (officially, you're supposed to put the title of a work in quotes or italics): I play the single line string opening with my right hand, and the left hand strings on a piano+string patch. I also make the guitarist play the BUM-bum-bum eight notes during the song so I can use two hands for string and horn parts. BTW, do you bill it as an Etta James song or a Beyonce song, not that the versions are much different?
goergtn
elecmuse3 - hi !We do "At Last" along with "The Basement" as a mini EJ block - prolly add "I'd Rather Go Blind" soon. The problem I had with the Intro was not getting some of the inner voices - and not being able to grab a 10th on all the changes (specifically on the Bb). I play LH bass in this band, so I have the guitar doing the 8ths rhythm - like you.
