HMmmmmm......can you read the cards in your computer? How are these formatted, are you using an Apple or Windows computer to read the cards? Cards new from the factory don't usually need formatting but if you've used them for other devices like a camera it might cause problems but really shouldn't. I'd factory reset the CTK and see what happens.

Actually some Sandisk cards come with a hidden partition and useless management software that autoboots.

Best thing to do with those is use a utility to remove the crapware partition and reformat the drive to FAT32.  Then format the card again in the keyboard to create the appropriate directories.

Here's a link to a free utility.

Reformat the entire card to full capacity using FAT32 with it then reformat in the keyboard to create the necessary directories.

Hi:

I haven't got a CASIO CTK, but you need to format the card in your CTK.

As a novice keyboard player with a casio ctk7200 if I format my memory card using the keyboard will this create a musicdat folder into which I can download backing tracks which can be played via the keyboard

Bigjim

Hi Bigjim and welcome to the Casio Music Forums!

The CTK-7000/WK-7500 has some pretty nice audio recording and playback capabilities.

To playback audio files, you will first need to convert them to the format the keyboard can read using the data editor, which you can download here:

http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=67

For full details start on page 121 of the manual found here:

Have fun!
