wk7600 sequencer question

Like others I am new since Dec 14 to the wk7600 and am pouring over the manual, watching youtube vids...getting up to speed quickly if possible...I think I hit a wall

as I cannot find how to advance to a specific measure while in the song sequencer mode after I recorded a song.  I added some additional licks to it and want to be able to advance to what ever measure I put this in...However I am brain dead from reading the manual and watching vids to the point that I'm sure its easy and probably right in front of me....but I cannot find it....can anyone help?

Welcome to the club !  There are more than a few of us here who have gained our (unfair) share of gray hairs trying to follow these wonderful manuals.

In case you have not already found it, what you are looking for is in the right hand column of Page 80 of the manual - the section entitled "To repeat play a specific phrase" - but there are a couple of button presses in there that, if not done exactly right, will cause the entire process to fail.  So, we will take it one step at a time to get you going.  Begin with the WK-7600 powered OFF, so we know we are both starting at the same point.

DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS NOT SPECIFIED BELOW !

1. Power the WK-7600 ON.

2. Press the SONG SEQUENCER button and use the DATA WHEEL to select the song you want to work with.  DO NOT PRESS ENTER AT THIS POINT.

3. PRESS AND HOLD the REPEAT button until the Locator screen appears.  (The REPEAT button is also the INTRO button in the transport controls.)

4. Use the RIGHT ARROW ( > ) button and DATA WHEEL to enter the start ( A ) and stop ( B ) measure, beat and tick desired.

5. Notice, at this point, that the cursor and dots under the data you just entered are blinking.  This indicates that the data has not yet been set.

6. Press the ENTER button. (ONCE ONLY)

7. Confirm that the cursor and dots under the data you entered are no longer blinking, indicating that your desired loop points have been set.

8. Press the EXIT button. (ONCE ONLY)

9. Press the REPEAT button again, but just MOMENTARILY this time.

10. Notice that the word REPEAT shows in the center of the display.

When you press the START/STOP button, you will get a one measure count-in, your selected range, and then a loop back to the one measure count-in.  This will continue until you press the START/STOP button again.

So far, I have been unable to find a way to defeat this one measure count-in.  It is separate from the pre-recording count-in, which CAN BE defeated.  So, it looks like, for now, we are stuck with it.

When setting the ( B ) loop stop (or exit) point, if I am working with complete measures, I normally just set it to "Beat 01 / Tick 00" of the measure after the last measure I want in the loop.  For instance, if I want to locate and loop measures 015 through 021, I will just set the ( B ) stop point to "022:01:00".  That way I am certain of getting all of that last measure in my loop.

Now, a much quicker (and a lot dirtier) way is:  during normal playback, just press and hold the >>FF button until you get to the measure you want to start with and then release it.  When you get to your desired loop back point, just press and hold the <<REW button until you get back to your start point.  With a little practice, you will get to where you can "play" these two buttons pretty well and come up with a "manual" loop system.  Also during normal playback, each momentary press of the >>FF button advances the the song position pointer by one measure, while each momentary press of the <<REW button regresses it by one measure.

Hope this helps.  Best of luck !
