elecmuse3
I recently tried a Tube Screamer pedal with a wurlitzer patch, after reading that Dave Weiser does this kind of thing. While it has too much midrange for my taste, I did like the basic overdrive/distortion sound more than what's on the PX5, and now I'm on a quest to find something in a pedal. Pedals also have the advantage of going on/off with your foot, which means I don't have to find exactly the right time and spot for using a usually-not-spare hand. So, I'm thinking some of you have already tried external units, such as a distortion, a wah pedal, a Leslie sim like the NeoVent, and perhaps many other toys.Let us know what you've used, and how you liked it. B. J. Love
In the studio and very small rooms, I use an old Alesis Ampliton for auto-pan on Rhodes patches. (Tho' it does lots of way cool stereo and mono tremolo and auto-pan effects - http://alesis.com/ampliton ) That way I can use the PX's internal phaser thru the auto-pan. Creeeemeee Smoooooth.....
