rockitman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGzgoSg5OZg Is there a way to create this opening sound on my P1? I know nothing on how to create sounds, have only used the presets. Is there a way to just hit a button and let it repeat over and over? Can I set the tempo with it as well? I realize it sounds like a guitar, but the song has both an acoustic part and two other electric guitar parts so if I can pull off this repeating lick with my P1, it would be a cool song for our band to cover. Null
Sounds like a mix of sawtooth and noise with filter sweeping between oscillators and an overall flanger or phaser effect. Dunno if it could be easily duplicated on the XW-P1 without at least one or two external effects pedals in the mix. Gary
Display Name
It's an electric guitar run thru an M-Audio Blackbox runnung a tempo locked tremelo effect so you will probably need an external effects box. unless Brad MZ has some ideas. He is the programming guru so I bet he does...
Brad Saucier
I don't know the specifics of the XW-P1, but I would start by pulling up a good distortion guitar and increase LFO amp depth. Match the LFO rate to your tempo.
rockitman
I found a decent distortion guitar but when I hit Edit, I don't see anything for LFO.
Brad Saucier
You might need to do this with a hex tone. Amp LFO is in hex but not available in melody tones. For those you might try a tremolo dsp effect in place of the LFO.
rockitman
can't find a distorted guitar in hex tones.
Brad Saucier
Make one. Edit a hex tone and choose the Dist Guitar PCM wave for a layer and turn off the other layers.
