Casio PX 110

Local is a command used to turn off the internal sounds so when you play the keyboard it will transmit via MIDI but no sounds will be made (from the keyboard). Yes you would have had to do this on purpose which it doesn't sound like you did. If you haven't already done this try: Turn off the PX-110. Unplug it from the wall for a few minutes, plug it back in and turn it on. Let me know if that does it.

(I always seem to be asking this) Do you have another keyboard and MIDI cable you can plug into it? The PX 110 has MIDI In/Out, and using another MIDI keyboard you can test a) whether you can play the PX via the other keyboard, and B) whether you can play the other keyboard via the PX. This would tell us if the problem is the PX's keyboard mechanism or connection, or the internal circuits.
