Peter
I connected my XW-P1 and my Sledge with a MIDI cable so the sequencer can play the Sledge. Everything is fine, except one thing: when I change tones or performances with the selection wheel or with the plus minus buttons, then it also changes the patches on the Slegde. The Sledge has the followinf MIDI parameters and current values:Channel: OMNI (it recieves MIDI from all channels)Local: ON (same as the local control on casio)VelCurve: 127 (irrelevant)Clock: Ext (it is synchronised to the casio's midi clock, and the casio is set to MASTER)Send Ctrl: OFFReceive Ctrl: OFF I also tweaked the casio's midi settings, but it is all the same. Or am I missing something ?
Display Name
Try this trick: Under Settings ---> MIDI .. Turn Perform NRPN ON... This should stop bank changes being sent to the Sledge during Performance changes.. not sure if it will stop during Tone changes.
- T -
To stop changing tones on the Sledge, you would need to turn off the sending of "Program Change" messages from the XW, but I can not find where this is done on the XW, so check the MIDI setup on the Sledge to see if it allows turning off the receipt of "Program Change" messages.
Peter
Scott, yes that solved the problem, partially. I made a performance where the sequencer sends MIDI from one track to the Sledge. And changing the tone for that channel in mixer also changes the tone on Sledge. Which isn't a big problem since I turn off the tone on the Casio for that track and it is replaced by a Sledge tone. So, changing performances don't change the sledge patches anymore EXCEPT when I select my performance where that one channel sends MIDI, so it automatically changes the patch. It is a feature with clearly good intentions, since I can now memorize with the casio which sledge patches I used in different performances. Selecting a PCM tone 00, select a sledge patch 1, a PCM 32 tone select a sledge patch 33 and so on. The problem is that the PCM tones on Casio go from 00 to 99 or 100, but on the Sledge they go from 1 to 999. The first 100 patches on sledge are presets, and my patches are from 110+. Fortunatelly I can delete or overwrite the presets on the Sledge, so I can make my patches compatible with the Casio's performance and tone selection. I don't know if any of this makes sense I tried to explain the best I can Anyway thanks for the help guys !
Display Name
Try turning on the next MIDI setting down - S. Seq NRPN - see if that helps.
