Casio PX575/410 SMF files

Recommended Posts

 Another PX575 confusion.

I can see the names of all the internal files used and played by the smf player button when I switch that on- there are 50. When I first accessed this directory list of smf files from within the PX575 I was able to play all the files with the PX575 smf player. Now these won't play even though the titles are all still there.

I did load a "package' file which from what I've read in the IDES software directions might have overwritten these, but not sure. Why would all the titles still be visible from within the PX575 but not be playable-all I get is "not an smf 0 type file for every one of the files still listed which these obviously were in the first place since I was able to play them all from the PX!

I understand the PX575 only plays smf type 0 files which is fine, but I can't tell from the manual if these 50 smfs are in ROM or flash memory-the manual is vague as it describes only 3 sample smfs are originally part of the factory default settings. Ah well, it's still a very fun machine. I will try to load the "all data" ckf file i found on the European Casio website and see if that restores these. As always any help on this will be most welcome. :o

Solved problem. And the manual was somewhat descriptive.I decided to save the internal smf files from the px575 to the computer with the IDES program which worked. But it apparently deletes them from the PX when you do this, kind of odd. So can reload all smfs from computer which were saved back into the PX575 but has to be done one at a time. 50 files. OK.
