Display Name
OK - so here's what I scored today: A Casiotone 202! It was the 2nd keyboard model from Casio. They actually made 2 versions of the 202: one with a "woodgrain" finish, and one with a black/silver finish. I got the black/silver one in the original Casio hardcase! Both the case and keyboard are in super good shape, esp. for being 30+ years old. I would say this was played a few dozen times and kept in the case when not in use. I have keyboard 2 years old that look more worn than this bad boy! Anyway, it was a great find and I can't wait to hook it up to some effects.
Elgin Baylor
If I ever find the guy who stole the VZ1 I was bidding on in the last 10 seconds of the auction, he'll have to play it with broken fingers. Thought I had it won. Ce la vie. I'll find something else.
dc2k
I'm one of those guys who snipes in the last 7 seconds. It's the only way to win anything on on ebay auction. You can even beat the bots. The trick is to wait until about 7 seconds. Have a bid ready entered in the box at some price a bit higher than the current one. Press the bid button.Ebay will throw up a max bid box for you to choose to fill in.Immediately you have put in a really high max bid there. Have your fingers ready in position to enter the number - As much as you would really, really pay if you had to and a bit more perhaps. The timer will be about 1 second now.You won't end up paying near that amount, you just need to make sure you outbid anyone else's max bid and so it's best if nobody thinks your there until the last second and you flummox them. Do not put a max bid in at any other time. Do not even bid on an item before the last few seconds. There is no point. All you are doing is pushing the price higher and making people aware there is someone else wanting the item. I've won every ebay auction I've tried to using this method. Before that, I lost them all.
dc2k
anyway the 202 looks like it would be good fun to play with. I'd like to see how the architecture works.
CYBERYOGI =CO=Windler
Casio FX-1? - I own a few classic calculators, but I didn't know that Casio ever made nixie stuff. I thought VFD was their first display technology. I own such a blue 6 digit Casio pocket calculator, which apparently multiplies by repeated addition, thus large numbers take some seconds to to finish.
