sydnytt Posted October 25, 2015 Share Posted October 25, 2015 Hi, is there a way to set the pitch of a tone? it seems the transpose parameters in tone settings only change the actual midi note sent, which does not pitch the sound. im looking for the effect of holding the pitch Wheel on maximum (without actually doing this), but adjusting so the keys are still on the right pitches.e.g. C is technically a raised Bb, F# is E etc... am i just missing something?Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

sydnytt Posted October 26, 2015 Author Share Posted October 26, 2015 thank you for your answer! however what i want is the timbre that comes from a certain piano tone while holding the pitch wheel to the top (+2), there is no change in timbre with the course tuning, it seems to do (almost) the same as a midi transpose? To hear the difference in timbre:1. Play middle C2. Push the pitch wheel to +23. Play Bb on the keyboard Same C, but slightly brighter. I am not getting this effect with Edit>stage setting>zone edit>mixer edit>coarse tune.maybe there is another thing causing this, such as key values affecting parameters? Brad Saucier Posted November 10, 2015 Share Posted November 10, 2015 Ahh yes. I see now. You are looking for timbre shift. Casio calls it "split shift". Hex tones are the only way it can be done on the PX-5s. It's easily done there with the split shift parameter. Preset piano tones will not be able to split shift. I already did this for you in this hex tone. http://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/file/567-old-upright/ I used the split shift function and used the pitch envelope for additional timbre shifting.
