Rhythm Loops

Many people have talked on here about rhythm loops and I have had a little experiment with a few ideas. I found for me, the easiest way is to set my rhythm loops up on a phrase which then repeats. A simple swing rhythm in the background of Misty played on piano and strings is quite nice. I have also found that setting sliders 1-4 to volume for zones 1 to 4 means I am able to balance between (for example) 1- Drums -2 Hex Grand Piano 3- Electric Piano 4- Strings. This creates a very simple but effective canvas to work with.

I program my various rhythms so they are sequentially programmed on the phrases so for example 101-Swing 1, 102-swing 2 103-swing 3 etc.. this means that with a single stage setting, I can simply push the phrase button  and then the + or - button to step through to the pattern I want. I have basic bossanova, several swing, ballad  and a latin pop rhythm I use. You can also vary sound a little by changing the drum kit used.

It is important to have the zone enabled so you can still effect it with the various knobs and sliders. To prevent the keys sounding the percussive sounds I set the Drum zone (which has to be Zone 1) so that it only plays on G9. I have attached a few drum loop phrases. If you are able to change between phrases on the first beat of the bar then you can change mid play without any noticeable interruption. I have attached a few phrases for you to put on your PX5S to have a play with... Remember to unzip them and put them in your musicdat folder. Upload them into your arpregiator and have fun. If any one needs a stage setting fileusing them, let me know. My swing patterns were loaded from phrase 101-106.

Regards
