WK-3000

I have 2 WK-3000 keyboards that I love!  I would love to know if there is a way (and how) to obtain the Yamaha "digital piano" sound and add to a smart media card for me to use with my keyboard.  I feel like this should be a very simple process; however, I cannot locate any info that will guide me.

Please help!

The WK3000's have the ability to store User Tones in memory.  The way to your Yamaha "digital piano" sound is to locate a wave sample or record your own.  Recording your own gets you the exact sound you are looking.   Using the software that is included with the WK3000 allows you create a user tone, adjust the sampled note and assign it a base octave range.  Using Data Manager you can then load it to one of the user tone slots starting at location 600 - 700 - 720 in the user tone or tone with wave areas.

I wanted a steel drum tone on my CTK900 -(61 note version of your WK) which the keyboard did not have.  I found a sample wave on the internet and then was able save the steel drum as a user tone.  Even gives you touch control.

I have a few samples up on this forum, ones a huge velocity switched piano (that beats my psr1500 hand down) and another is a sampled korg M1 piano.

Use IDES to transfer them, but a word of warning, they take nearly all the memory on the wk3000 so delete any user data and demos, install the sound then install the data you need.

I have attached the M1 but will need to extract the other piano from my smart media card shortly. Will upload it tonight.
