Problem playing songs stored on USB drive with PX-850

I am having problems playing back songs stored in the "Audio" file folder on my USB storage drive.  Btw - I have Privia PX-850.  First, here is what I did.  I recorded 7 songs on the piano last night.  After each recording I trasfered the song to the USB that was plugged into the piano and saved it under the folder 61, 62, etc.  I then plugged the USB into my laptop and then transfered those files to my iTunes library to create an album for myself to put on my phone.  I then copied those same files into the "Audio" folder on the USB drive that the piano automatically had already created when I formatted the USB drive.  I resaved them as the manual states to "TAKE01.WAV" and so on with increasing to number 7 (as I had 7 songs).  So all seven songs are correctly named in the "Audio" folder on the USB drive.  I then plugged the USB drive into the piano and here is where my problem begins!

First - it should be noted that in the manual there are two different directions for playing back songs on a USB drive from the Audio folder!!!  I hate this manual so much btw!  (and whoever decided to double piano keys as function keys just so there were less button on the display area was an idiot becuase it made everything confusing and more work!!!).

Page E14 Option - this does not work.  I put in the USB drive and press "audio recorder" and nothing happens.  The manual states that the Song button lights should light - they do not!  So I can go no further with this option.  I cannot figure out what I am not doing.  I have gone over this so many freaking times at this point I am about to throw this piano out the window!  Using the option on page E-32 does not work either (storing the files in the MUSICLIB folder) - it will not play this way either.

I hope someone has an answer for me!!  Thank you so much in advance for anyone that can help!

That does not really help me.  I have the manual.  I hate this manual - it is the most unhelpful thing ever.  According to the manual whether I save a file on the piano or a USB they are all WAV files.  So it should not make a difference.  Is there something out there with detailed instructions on playing WAV files from the USB drive on the piano?  I am totally frustrated and confused as to what to do at this point.

Both of us are reading the manual to help you.  It's not a bad manual.

First thing to understand, there are two different types of recorders on this keyboard.  One creates midi data (song recorder), the other creates audio data (audio recorder). You'll need to follow the correct instructions for the type of recording you want to make.

You need to confirm you can successfully record an audio file with the keyboard. The instructions for that are where Scott mentioned (Page E-18 - Recording to a USB flash drive AUDIO RECORDER). Have you followed these instructions?  If you are successful, you should find WAV files on your thumb drive when you plug it into your computer.  The files will already be named TAKE01.wav, TAKE02.wav, etc.

Yes. It's all in the manual. I don't have this piano so I can't help you beyond pointing you to the applicable sections in the manual.

RE: "It all gets saved to USB as .wav" That is not correct. If you look on page E-29 you will see that you were saving song data, not .wav data as indicated on on page E-18.  They are even saved in different folders: wavs are in AUDIO folder and songs are in MUSICLIB.

I tried recording following E-18 in the manual with the USB drive.  I never tried it because the book states that when you plug in a USB drive the L/R lights are supposed to flash showing a connection and my piano never did that.  I just tried recording and it recorded a WAV file - however, it did not record the entire song.  I paused playing for a second to move onto the next section of the song and it apparently stopped recording.  The manual says it should only stop recording when you push the play/stop button.  I am beyond frustrated at this point.  I am needing to layer sounds and E-18 says you can do that with a USB drive but following those directions it is not working for me.

Again - if anyone knows of videos or more detailed instructions out there for the PX-850 I would greatly appreciate the help.
