Arranger Fingering Problem

Recommended Posts

I'm hardly a virtuoso, but when I play on my WK 7600 I don't just play root chords. I might play an Eb with a Bb bass instead of the root bass note, or a C with a G bass etc. I would assume some of you do too, but maybe not. Be that as it may, on my Roland arranger, I can do that and it will follow without using FULL keyboard mode. On this machine the only way you can do that is to use full keyboard, and that stinks, because whatever you play on the left hand doubles over what the arranger is playing on the left side. So if the arranger is playing the inverted chord bass and you play it at the same time using, say a piano tone, --well-- I don't want that! I don't want the bass notes of the piano masking the bass that the arranger plays. They don't give you that 4th fingering mode that will let you do that. 1,2 and 3 all assume that you are playing the root note as the bass. Does this all make sense? The only way around it for me is to create a split, put a bass or whatever on the left side and lower the volume to 0. Then it mostly works -unless you have a complicated style - then it seems to affect the 64 note polyphony a bit, but --I guess that can't be helped. Does this limitation bother some of you, and if so, what's YOUR workaround?

Maybe this is a cheat that others can use if they are experiencing the same problem, but was wondering if this was even a concern of others..

Antonio- what I meant to say was I didn't understand your answer ( mostly because you sound WAY smarter than me). I wouldnt know how to edit the style in the way you suggested.

And yes- I would LOVE to visit Russia. If I ever do, I'll bring my Casio! Ha ha..

ОК, Richie. i'll try to explain

1. Copy factory rhythm to user rhythm.

To do this, select the factory rhythm (source), press Pattern Editor, then (F+)menu, then Store, Select empty User Rhythm (target) slot. Press Enter (if slot isn't empty - will be prompt to repalce it)

You have read only user style

2. Make needed part to be editable

select pattern (e.g. Normal) by rhythm controller buttons, select part - Bass by < > buttons. Press Function+Pattern sequencer.

In menu, select Part Edit -> Copy, Select Rhythm from source factory rhythm, and pattern and part needed to edit.  (Sure?Yes)

3. Edit part conversion table (as well as other parameters)

Return to menu (1 exit) and select PartPara. Change Table to 04. Press Exit until Store. Change slot to target user rhythm (as in p.1) Press Enter Replace?Yes

Conversion table is changed to bass f-root

I hope it will help
