Solution Brad Saucier Posted May 23 Solution Share Posted May 23 Do not install any drivers. Those are designed only for a handful of early model Casio keyboards. All other Casio models, including your PX-160, are plug and play universal MIDI controllers. They use the driver Microsoft designed and Windows automatically installs. Open Windows "Device Manager" and check under the game controller section for "Casio USB MIDI" to confirm your keyboard has been added. Jokeyman123
Could be "home" "pro" "home" or even mobile. With 10 I have plain old 10 and mobile. Problem is, the more "updates" and "patches" are installed in 10 by Microsoft, the greater chance it will not work. One update patch has caused me problems until I deleted the update prefaced by "KB" and a number. And I have found the mobile version is pretty crippled when it comes to drivers unfortunately. And are you running 32-bit or 64-bit-this can make a tremendous difference in operability. So milky way if you could provide a few more details. Okay to update; I've connected the piano via usb, my computer sent a notification that it had connected, i pressed function+high e on the piano to activate bluetooth mode (the buttons started flashing like normal), opened a virtual piano website as well as the normal daws that i use (waveform), but the piano didnt appear in the MIDI bluetooth device menu to connect, and also didnt connect on the web virtual piano. Im not sure whats going on 😭
Brad Saucier
Short answer: Do not press the High E function key. That is your problem. Long Answer (or explanation): The high E function key changes USB mode from "MIDI device" to "storage device" mode. MIDI device mode is the default mode each time the USB cable is connected. Pressing the high E key at this point will defeat your purpose. You do not want to switch to storage device mode. Allow it to remain in the default setting. Note: PX-160 does not feature Bluetooth. It only functions as a wired USB MIDI controller. Why did you mention Bluetooth?
Jokeyman123
Follow Brad's advice. Don't concern yourself with 64 vs. 32 bit Windows. That's not the problem. I'm probably confusing the issue. if your software installed and is running, you don't need to be concerned, it will make no difference for this problem.
