GPatrickBryant
I've owned my PX-5S for three years but am just now getting around to learning how to use it and am stumped by the directions on entering/modifying the name of any phrase I've recorded. The User's Guide (Basics) that came with the unit sends me back and forth between pages E-11 & E-10 in an endless loop. On E-11 the enigmatic qualifying phrase "If the data lets you change its number or data name..." appears, and I have to assume it's possible to change a new phrase's name from "Untitled" to something else, but nothing I've tried brings up the character display on E-10. I've watched the Mike Martin "Back to Basics" video on Youtube (ii8AYmSwtXY) but he doesn't address this topic. So, how do you enter/modify a new phrase's name? Many thanks in advance! GPatrickBryant
What I meant by "just now getting around to learning how to use it" was "I'm just now starting to record phrases to build backing tracks". The manual has been no help at all on this topic. I can record the phrases, but I can find no way to access the character file to rename the phrases. Thanks. Solution Brad Saucier Posted June 2 Solution Share Posted June 2 43:24 into this video, saving a phrase. What you are seeing him do is use the arrow buttons to move the cursor around the screen to edit each character. Knob 2 scrolls through the character set to edit each one, or use the plus minus buttons to scroll 1 at a time. Hold the num key button while using the + - buttons to scroll by 10 at a time. It's written on the panel of the keyboard as a reminder.
GPatrickBryant
Many thanks, Brad! I didn't understand the tips about recording the zones / muting tracks that led up to the naming sequence, but I certainly got the naming technique. Thanks again!
