CT S500 remote control

Recommended Posts

Hi. I connected my CT-S 500 via Bluetooth, and discover that the REMOTE CONTROLLER is not available for this model.

I would have liked to organize from PC or Tablet the sounds setup as seen in the explanatory video.

Is there any other way to do this from an external device? Thanks in advance.

The CT-S500 built in LCD screen has full access to all keyboard settings.  It can be used to configure everything.

Unfortunately the app's (Casio Music Space) piano remote controller feature is only compatible with 88 key digital pianos and the CT-S1-76.

Can the remote controller feature on the Music Space app be developed and made available for the CT-S500?  This featured was advertised on the box and then I was very disappointed to discover that it in actual fact is not.  Will this be corrected in the future?

Also, the music player feature in the app doesn't work, and it is supposed to. I just bought the keyboard in part for this feature, since the keyboards on- board display is very small.

Thank you!

Can you share a photo where the remote controller was advertised?  Casio Music Space is compatible with the CT-S500, however features available in the app depends on the keyboard model connected to it.

The remote controller feature of the app is generally not compatible with portable models.  This feature is only available for 88 key digital pianos, with the only exception being the portable 76 key CT-S1.  Here is a list of models currently compatible with the remote controller.

As far as the music player, here is information  about compatible files and more.  Basically it can play standard audio files stored on your phone or tablet, or play music from streaming services.

The newest firmware of the s500/s1000 allows to change tones and registrations over midi. So you could use an app like “midi commander” (android) were you can define the midi codes that have to be sent when you press a button in the app. The app has a “learn” feature (recording the midi messages when doing an action on the keyboard), so that you do not have to enter the codes manually, but I do not know if the learning feature works with a Casio. You can also type in the midi codes if needed.

I use this app with my smartphone connected to my Yamaha keyboard via cable, but the program supports Bluetooth so with the Casio, it should also work wirelessly.
