dtre
Hi, I've tried the audio analog outs and they don't sound that great to me. What's the best method to get the highest quality audio recordings from the PX-S7000? The internal recorder? or the blue tooth adapter? Has anyone had success micing the piano's speakers? Side question: when I purchased from Sweetwater the PX-S7000 I didn't receive a "Casio WU-BT10 Wireless Bluetooth Audio & MIDI Adapter". Should that have been included with the purchase of my PX-S7000? Thank you Dtre Edited August 30 by dtre
Brad Saucier
Welcome to the forums. Technically speaking, the internal audio recorder should yield absolute highest audio quality, however analog audio outs should yield equally high quality results. The Bluetooth adapter is for MIDI only, so audio recording is not possible there. For your second question, every PX-S7000 comes with a WU-BT10 adapter inside the box among other parts and packaging materials. The adapter is inside of a smaller brown box labeled Casio WU-BT10. I would double check all of the packaging materials in case it was overlooked during unboxing. See the screenshot from the video for approximate location of the smaller box containing the adapter. dtre
@Brad Saucier Thank you this was very helpful! ... and you're right I overlooked the Casio WU-BT10. Thanks. I will use the internal recorder. Curious though: why do they call the Casio WU-BT10 a "Wireless MIDI & Audio Adaptor " if it's only midi?
Brad Saucier
To clarify, WU-BT10 can receive audio from your phone or other music player for using the keyboard as a Bluetooth speaker. It does not transmit audio however.
dtre
Ah, thank you for the clarification. Thanks again.... one final question Recording internally and exporting to my DAW is a significant sound quality improvement, but that's cumbersome. Do you know if there are any plans for digital adapter out (using the usb out?) ? Or any creative work arounds?
Brad Saucier
Your line outputs should be producing almost identical results, however the cables or audio interface can have a negative impact on sound quality if not setup correctly. Can you share some more details about your setup? Cable type? Audio interface? Etc.
dtre
I'm going into an Apollo x8 using the 1/4" unbalanced input (the Apollo handles both unbalanced an balanced). If you think there's a cable type that would make a difference -- let me know... But, I think I'm just picky. For recording purposes I can hear a difference. Thanks again. Brad Saucier
When you say a significant improvement, what qualities specifically are better? Could you share an A/B demo of the difference?
Mike Martin
On 9/3/2024 at 9:20 AM, dtre said: Recording internally and exporting to my DAW is a significant sound quality improvement There should be almost no discernible difference other than level. In fact, going through your audio interface's preamp should allow you to get an optimum recording level from your instrument. The PX-S7000 has unbalanced outputs. Using balanced (TRS) cables might cause problems. I'll add, don't forget to pan the signals left & right on the recording side - perhaps you're listening in mono?
writetomichael
Good quality TRS cables (I. E. Vovox) will NOT cause problems for unbalanced outs. i record my px-s7000 into an 18i20, with two vovox link protect s200 cables (TRS cables). it sounds amazing.
