Tom P Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Hi all, I hope someone here can help with a weird problem that I have with my PX-350 Casio keyboard. Every time I press the notes B5 or B5 flat it emits a loud distorted noise in addition to the tone. The noise is emitted only on the right speaker (the left one sounds fine). It is not a problem of the speaker (it happen also with headphones). It is not a mechanical problem because if I transpose two semitones up the problem happens on C6 and C6 sharp and so on. It happens only on some piano sounds (Gran piano, Grand piano mellow and others). The other instruments sound fine. Also some other piano sounds work fine (Rock Piano, LA Piano and others) If I set the settings "touch" to zero the problem disappears (but it is not a valid workaround because I cannot play without dynamics) I have also tried to open the keyboard and clean all contacts under the keys but the problem remains, as I expected. The problem started one day out of the blue. One day I turned the piano on and there was the problem, the day before it worked fine. I didn't mess up with settings, I play only the preset tones without changing anything. Do you have any suggestions? They would be very appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Brad Saucier Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Personally I would continue to use the piano as it is with tones that are not affected. You could also use the piano as a MIDI controller for piano VST instruments as a replacement sound source. These are perhaps the easiest and most cost effective solutions. I say this because this particular sound glitch in others has unfortunately required a new main board to solve. Quote
Tom P Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 Thank you very much, I will do as you suggest. Quote
Rokas Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Seems like factory reset solved the issue for me. To reset: 1. Switch off the piano; 2. hold Function+Metronome+Grand Piano buttons and switch on the piano while holding these three buttons. 3. Wait untill the LED blinking sequence ends. Not sure if it does not come back after a while, but for now the terrible noise is gone. Quote

A factory reset only deletes user edits made to keyboard settings. Quote
Tom P Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Thank you, I tried but unfortunately it didn't work for me. On PX-350 I believe the sequence is GM TONES and FUNCTION and then POWER ON but it didn't work either. Quote
